A timely coda:

As one of my first forays into ‘new’ territory as suggested in my just posted blog, I asked Bing! to show me some ‘fiction readers’ blogs’ and the very first one was this spot-on post by Jody Hedlund, http://jodyhedlund.blogspot.com/2011/01/do-fiction-readers-really-read-author.html.

As you see, Jody has concluded that an author blog is mostly useless in gathering reader interest but can still be useful and fulfilling as an ongoing meditation on the writing craft for newby authors.

I can live with that. My blog has always been about my discoveries in learning the writing craft anyhow. Thank you, Jody. You have encouraged me to continue.
