Multitasking

Writers multitask.  It is part and parcel of the craft.  They have the new work they’re working on and the research that goes with it.  The last work, now through its final draft, must be edited and polished.  There is the agent query circuit of the most recently finished and edited work.  The work that has found an agent requires much toing and froing for final adjustments and contract negotiation with the publisher.  And, the published work requires marketing activities to include, God willing, interviews, signings, appearances and those dreaded trips to the bank to pile up the royalties.  A successful writer has all these events happening simultaneously.  Oye, the burdens of fame.
